Rita Desnoyers-Garcia, Becoming Awake

For years, Rita has coached stressed-out moms — helping them cultivate self-compassion, drop limiting beliefs that no longer serve them, and even learn stand-up comedy, so they can see their lives 'in a more playful, creative, and human way.' That work grew out of her background in social work and her own challenges as a mom. Most recently, Rita has turned to writing and performing musical comedies about women at different stages of life — including 'Live.Laugh. Lube.,' a musical comedy about menopause — and is now working on a mid-life one-act, projected for June 2027. Her advice for someone just starting out: 'Take action on what excites you. One step at a time.'
